Wedding Cake tree

I visited 8 open gardens today which were open for charity. I hope to do the remainder tomorrow. I dressed appropriately for the inclement weather with waterproof trousers and jacket. At one time I felt a bit silly wearing them when the sun came out but the rain returned with a vengeance.

This was one of two favourite gardens belonging to a garden flat. The star tree is a Cornus Controversa Variegata which was planted 20 years ago and looked quite splendid.
