Fountain in Early Evening
Day 1 of our München visit.
A sad goodbye to the cats and then we sallied forth to see what Deutsche Bahn couldn't do for us.
I always travel in trepidation here. German railways have a reputation for punctuality that just isn't deserved. However, plaudits where plaudits are due and we were delivered to München on time. That was a good start.
Our hotel was a bit outside the city centre in a part of the city rather forebodingly called Harras. We arrived on the same train as 4 beggars* who were off their nuts on something. It did not look good. Our hotel was Ok. It would have been the bee's knees in 1978 but sadly it isn't.
We went out to meet our friend M for dinner and I liked the way the light shone on this fountain.
Germany played their second game of the World Cup. Every pub was crammed. Great atmosphere everywhere.
*We know they are beggars as we saw them later, begging in the city centre. One of them sitting in the wheelchair that we saw him carrying off the train.
