Is something happening?

I happened to head for Peterhead a wee while ago to a) deliver a wedding present and b) go to the vigil mass as I'm working tomorrow. I couldn't believe the transformation of the old Kirkburn Mills site in preparation for the Queen's baton which arrives in The Bloo Toon tomorrow evening. A new fence has been erected which has been enhanced with some very colourful murals showcasing the work of some of the town's young people, and very talented they are too! It's a pity it took this special event to make these improvements to Aberdeenshire's biggest town. The site has been an eyesore for months, if not years. But it does look much better now!
