Torrential and talented

The title sums up my day. Most of the day there was torrential rain, at least until about 6.30pm (good for the garden!) I got lots of shots of rain pouring off the slate shed roof which I would have used. However, I also attended an amazing concert by my niece, P, who is a grade 8 violinist and so my blip is of her.

I had a quiet morning, made even more quiet by being stood up for coffee by my step mum because of the rain. So I headed to the flicks again and saw a film called "Cold in July". The first three quarters was quite good and promised much but it was let down by the final act which was trite and predictable. Shame.

I then headed over to Chacombe in beautiful sunshine. I had the chart countdown from 1987 blaring out of the radio with the windows down and sang along at top whack to Wham, Frankie goes to Hollywood and Lionel Ritchie as I wended my way through some sleepy, tranquil villages. Whoops.

When I got to Chacombe I found that P and Bilbo were there. The three alpacas in the field behind the house made me laugh as they were obsessed with Bilbo. They lined up in a row along the fence and kept squealing and braying for him but he's a bit deaf so he didn't notice! I had a lovely chat with C and S about the dimensions for their new kitchen/diner and kitchens etc. I also had a brief cuddle with Teddy.

After tea, I took P into Northampton where she was performing in the County Youth Orchestra, in the theatre at my old school. I took a corner seat in the gallery and got loads of shots of her playing. My blip is my favourite because she is smiling in it. They played Tchaikovsky, Wagner and St Saens and it was absolutely brilliant given they are all of school age but at the top of their game. It was, in effect, a professional concert.

I dropped P back to Chacombe and then got home at about 11 o'clock, exhausted. Great day.
