Sugar and spice and all things lice
And while we're on the subject of head lice (and how things are done here)......
This is a row of luizenzakken (translation - lice bags) and something that I think is also quite ingenious. They hang on the row of pegs outside every classroom. I'd never seen them before coming here but they are used as a another weapon in the fight against the spread of the critter! Every child in the girls' primary school is given their own, in which they hang their coats, scarfs and other outdoor wear. So rather than hanging your coats on pegs, allowing the lice to run from one to the next (and truly, this is how they can spread) they are contained within the bag. You can keep your lice to yourself!
Of course, the idea is that you close your bag tightly (not shown in this photo) but you get the picture!
