Salute the Admiral

Red Admiral Butterflies were out in the sunshine today.

Also seen were Meadow Brown and Ringlet butterflies. Dragonflies including the very large Golden Ringed Dragonfly which was too fast for a photo. The tiny Common blue damselfly

A great day for seeing young birds in the nest, branching out, fending for themselves, and some on early excursions. Swallows still in the nest, young Redstarts some braver than others leaving the giant Oak that has been home so far. Young Dippers finding plenty to eat by themselves. Swifts overhead with their screaming call excited as they tested out flying at high speed.
