Eagle Eye...not...

Photographic disaster today. Luckily I can claim beginner mistakes (I am still new and learning the basics). It is my practice to shoot raw in manual mode. I need to wear glasses for close up work these days, but I usual never wear them while working the camera. I go by sense of smell, just like Tommy. However I am beginning to think I need to wear them while playing with the camera because I can't see or read the settings and I never check the pic via the preview because I can't see it anyway.

So it wasn't until I got home and discovered that some how I had managed to rotate the mode selector to something strange a wonderful that over exposed everything by 100,000 stops - plus almost nothing was in focus. A waste of a day (photographically speaking). Fortunately I had only taken a couple of hundred shots. This strange paranormal phenomena seemed to transpire approximately 5 shots into the days shoot. Almost everything after that was a washed out white nothing.

I have given my camera a severe talking to and threatened it with violence, neglect, confinement and a months holiday in Tony Abbott's camera bag. Tomorrow is Canada Day, so it will need to be on its best behaviour for it is under sufferance of pain of death plus deportation.

All I could managed to save from today are these 5 rather poor images of Archibald. Much embarrassment but a lesson learnt.
