Boxing Kangaroos

I drove out "The Port" this morning for sunrise and had spent quite some time taking images around the marina before I head back to Bundy. You know that feeling when you thing you've got a camera of Blips and they're just coming out of your ears. I was feeling very smug!!

And there they were........A group of kangaroos grazing in a grassy field right near the sugar storage area. I screamed to a halt and grabbed for the camera. When I looked again and started to zero in on them I could see these two kangaroos at the back of the pack and they were going hell for leather. I'm sure most blippers would have heard the expression "Boxing Kangaroos", well here they are ladies and gentlemen in live living colour. In fact in this image it's straight out "Kick Boxing".

I couldn't even bring myself to get out of the car. I didn't want to do anything that would change the dynamic. I just put the window down and sat and watched for almost twenty minutes as they kept having bout after bout, boxing and kicking each other while the others in the group were happily grazing away.

I really urge you to look at the LARGE version of this image and if you look carefully at the fellow on the left in the main image you will notice that he is propping on his tail. It just shows the extraordinary strength that they have in their tail. You would not want to pick an argument with one of these fellas.

I have blipped this image of the two actually boxing each other.

As our stay in Bundaberg draws to a close and I reflect back on the past four weeks, I realise how wonderful it has been to be trotting around blipping my little heart out. Before I started blipping I would come to Bundaberg and head out for a walk in the morning and that was really enjoyable, however I had no idea just what an interesting part of Australia I was visiting. I have tried during my stay to share many parts of the city and it's rural surrounds. Not quite the same as being here, but I hope those blippers who have visited my journal over the past four weeks have enjoyed the images I have posted.
