at home with an Ivysaurus

Baby bubble tea

The baby in the pretty pink hat is Hannah- this is her first appearance in my blip blog, despite her mummy often reading what i've put. She's 3 months younger than Ivy, altough roughly the same size and with more teeth...

They're playing with the sort of tapioca balls that go in bubble tea. Water beads look like they'd be great to play with- but I don't think they're very edible. These are (Ivy ate them like sweeties...). I totally mucked up cooking the first batch- and made a huge pot of sticky goo. Turns out you have to add them to rapidly boiling water or they fall apart. Euan stepped in and saved the day. I will definitly be doing it again- the girls had great fun. We cooked the balls, then rinsed them in cold water- put them in cups with natural food colouring for 5 mintues and then rinsed them before keeping them in the fridge.

This morning we went swimming and Ivy actually swam- I had no hands on her and she was on her front and she kicked and moved forwards. She also volunteered to be thrown into the water and dunked by saying 'yeth' when I asked if she wanted to go again. So looking forward to her in the pool in Italy next week- her clothes and nappies are all packed.

Weather was amazing today- Euan has gone an interesting colour... When he got home from school we went to teh allotment and on the way he jumped in a plunge pool in the river- Ivy got to go for a paddle further up where it's shallower. So many of the kids in Ullapool have wetsuits so they can go river swimming- we've remembered that Ivy has a toddler wetsuit in her wardrobe somewhere.
