Juvenile great spotted woodpecker

Hurrah! A woodie!
It was good to see this youngster on our tree this evening, because it's the first visit by a baby this year, and we've not seen the parents for 3 or 4 weeks now. Before then, we were accustomed to seeing them every day, so were worried that predators had been at work.
