On the Atlantic Way in County Mayo

The Lavelle family dog acts as lifeguard on this beach.
So I was told by some boys who get together whenever
their families come here for their summer holidays
and weekend breaks. The dog barks a warning when
it sees children in danger. Its family own the large
property seen in the background. But that is something
special about this part of Ireland - we all feel like family
whether two or four legs. It is an infectious spirit of care
and happiness.
