The Cattle Ramp
In the centre of our village we have a 'Cattle Ramp'.
in 2006 and 2007 the area around here was renovated with assistance from local councils and National Lottery. Prior to this it had become completely overgrown and derelict'. The flower beds now form part of 'Bramham In Bloom' and are planted twice yearly and judged in the 'Yorkshire In Bloom' competition.
The ramp leads from the main road through the village (formerly the Great North Road) down to the beck. It is described as 'ancient' in the village archive, so presumably in the dim and distant past it was used to water cattle as they were herded along the route.
