Dinner and a show

We took the grandchildren out for a treat for dinner tonight. We went to the International House of Pancakes. Nothing makes kids happier than having pancakes for dinner. Especially pancakes that are decorated to look like faces.
They thoroughly enjoyed them and even had room for ice cream afterwards. While we were sitting at the restaurant, the sky turned dark and it started to get windy. We were expecting thunderstorms. It had gotten so hot outside today I was not surprised at all that we would get a passing storm. This was much more than a passing storm! The rain came down in buckets and the lightning and thunder was nonstop. The roads got flooded too. Getting to our car from the restaurant had us all soaked to the skin.
Even after we had come home the thunder and lightning continued and we all watched from the living room as if it was the best thing on TV. Mother Nature sure did put on a show. After the excitement of the storm and the full bellies getting to sleep was easy. 
