What a day!

Tough day today filled with ups and downs.

We paid our last respect today to my husband's friend. This amazing man retired early only to find out that he has Variant Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease. This is a brain disorder which becomes deadly over time and in his case it took only half a year. We were lost for words! He was such a good man. Always helped others. Never selfish. So to see him suffer like this was just cruel. He deserved to enjoy his retirement!!!

After the funeral, we attended our girls' piano recital. They were extremely nervous. Made minor mistakes but played further in hopes that no one would notice. We were proud.

And to end our day, we went to our uncle's birthday party. It was nice to gather together as a family. Stayed longer than usual.
