An Artist's Life

Guest House

A tipi is a perfect guest house. They are warm in winter, with the proper small wood, propane or electric stove. One this size can accommodate 2 beds and a stove. They have a double wall on the bottom so they don't sweat and one I've stayed in got so warm, we had to raise one side and it was only 28 degrees outside. Snow falls off easily. In summer, they are cool. The front 'door' faces east so the solid wall is to the prevailing winds here in the west. That west wall can be raised to let the breeze create a natural air-conditioning as it swirls out the top. Many families have one that they erect in the summer months for guests.
I've had marvelous dreams when I've slept in them!
