Allium kurtzianum ACW 2372
With apologies to anyone who is too old / young or foreign to have been exposed to that advert for a certain kind of lawn mower!
A pretty little onion which opens these bright pink flowers just as the leaves have dried to a crisp. It was collected in Turkish mountains by Sydney Albury, Martin Cheese and John Watson about forty years ago. The hover fly visited every open flower.
