Dressed as I Please, Maturity with Ease

For most human children, dress as you please day is the perfect opportunity to display one's much coveted overpriced and badly made Hollister top. For Sam, it was about wearing a home made robot head. I said, "you may get teased sam, it's not a dress up day". He said, "dress how you please, this is how I please".

He waited outside the house this morning, on the busy Kingseat country commuter route, just watching cars pass, making them look twice, possibly three times. With me beside him drinking my tea cracking up laughing. We looked like lunatics. He retreated back for a while before he got picked up by my fellow Meldrum academy car pool mum. It's hot under that lampshade.

By all accounts he survived the day - relatively - unscathed.

Meanwhile, down in the village, it was Tess' last day of P6. The teacher gave her a notepad as a present with a personal message....

"Well done Tess! You survived p6 and all the nonsense it brought - including a starring role in our assembly! Keep trying hard, sticking to your opinions and being mature. Good luck for p7, Miss McDonald".

All this strength of character despite Tess having the most immature parents in the Western Hemisphere is quite an achievement. She's risen above us. Perhaps she can carry us on her coat tails.
