Happy 4th

For those not in the US, today is a Friday, the fourth day in the month of July and probably a normal work and school day. For those in the US, today is a national holiday, the day we sing happy birthday to America, we wear red, white and blue, we wave flags, have parades, have BBQs and feel patriotic. As a British girl in a foreign land, I try not to wear too much red on this day just in case but do try to be as patriotic as I can be.
We attended a local parade this morning - an informal parade organized by a good friend. I think this is the third parade we have attended. The turn out is always great, the heat too much but the early start useful! We have some fun playing, we say the pledge, we go on wheels around the park track once (or more for the older ones) and then head our separate ways. Prior to the event, we have all decorated our bikes/scooters/strollers to be patriotic and it's a great show. We were a little late doing our decorating this year but we pulled off a patriotic scooter and a patriotic girl.

Happy 4th - we will be in bed long before the fireworks start but hope everyone stays safe and has fun.
