Hot............

..................and VERY noisy!
Mr U&L and I got up very early 6.30AM so we could see the 'Cathedrals Express' pulled by Britannia 4-6-2 pacific 70013 Oliver Cromwell.
Now in itself that isn't unusual, as Mr U&L loves his trains and we often go to places to see live steam. But what was unusual was this particular rail tour was starting and finishing from Horsham station, less than a mile from home.
When we first arrived, having paid a stunning 20p to go onto the platform there were only a few dedicated railway buffs around, and I had plenty of opportunity to get lots of shots while dodging the Station staff yelling at people who crossed the 'Do not go past this line' line!!!
But good news travels fast! and within about 20 minutes (spent happily eating a delicious bacon bap) the whole platform was buzzing with absolutely loads of people.
Once again I was moved by how much of a 'beast' the engine was, the driver told me it was 'A living thing' and I could quite believe him as it hissed and moaned desperate to move off on it's journey to Canterbury.
Today's blip therefore could be nothing but the awesome, Oliver Cromwell as it moved off under the shabby road bridge out of platform one, in a cloud of steam and black smoke! making such a noise that the guy beside me talking on his walkie talkie announced "No wonder all old BR Engine men are deaf"
