Trees in the wind

We have had gale force winds all night and day, during the night I was afraid the roof might fly away, there were so many noises that I could not identify. And today it continued, a chair and some pot plants came flying past our windows at one stage. I don't know if these poor trees planted next to our garbage bins will ever get bigger, we brought all our potplants inside, I wish I could bring the trees in too!
