Loom bands attempt #1

I said yesterday I bought loom bands and was going to have a shot at making a bracelet. Well this is attempt number one. And its harder and more fiddley than it looks- maybe because they are designed for wee tiny kid fingers and I've got my stubby adult ones!

I've seen lots of nicer neater bracelets...do you get different patterns? Or just the one in the packets? The bracelets I've seen look like they definitely used a different pattern.
