Horsham Town Mill

After a long day yesterday all I needed was a night of no sleep! It was so hot and humid, that I woke up at 1.30am and never really slept after! The wind was so strong that I wasn't able to have the window open without a terrific draught, so for both Mum and I, it was tough night!

We went into Horsham shopping and later in the afternoon I took this shot of the converted Town Mill which stands on the River Arun. It's not known when the mill was built but it has been a house after being very derelict, offices and now a house again. The grilled outlet that can be seen low down was the opening of the tail race from the internal waterwheel. This had a diameter of 12feet. The mill is completely empty of any machinery now, including the waterwheel.
