The frozen East!
Ok - so I did get out the office today.
But only to go over to Edinburgh! SO hardly worth running a competition.
I think I might just make the whole month WITHOUT A FLIGHT!
That would be a first for a long time (although I def have one in Feb, and someone's been asking me availability for the next couple of weeks).
Took the train. I must admit, the trains these days are pretty punctual (if not even a minute early). Which is nice! I guess it does all go wrong from time to time.
Blipped this at Waverly - I likes the geometric shapes of all the different facades.
Unfortunately, the 3G signal for wireless broadband can be patch between Lenzie and Edinburgh.
Headed over to see one of my potential partners - so hammered out a bit of a deal. So here's hoping we get it signed.
Came back home after lunch and just worked out of my study writing contracts (no, I'm not a closet lawyer).
Spent evening researching X.25! This is a VERY old global communications system which is still in use in some industries (mainly air traffic control). It is so old that it pre-dates the internet.
I used to know this stuff, but am pretty rusty.
Looking into writing systems to connect old air traffic control systems (which can only talk X.25) to new air traffic control systems (which talk internet tcp/ip).
It's easier to do that, than to re-write the air traffic control systems. You want to see just how much testing you have to do if you change the slightest thing on an operational atc system (I'm sure you are re-assured by that!)
