Herbie

Considering we were out last night we have had very busy day! We finally got around to painting the ceiling in our en suite. The previous owners had the ceiling aqua in colour. I’ve not liked it since we moved in over two years ago but finally today we decided to change it to white. Three coats later in between the grand prix and the men’s finals I now have a white ceiling. Dinner has also been eaten (7 hour lamb shank) and now it’s time for sofa and sleep.
Not much time for blip today or this weekend, which always saddens me but here you have ‘Herbie’ brought from Zimbabwe to South Africa by my uncle, who then sold him to us together with his brother ‘Ernie, but now we have a few more…my aunt and uncle left South Africa last year and moved to New Zealand to be with their other son and daughter in law which left four other carvings without a home. Muggings here gave them a home, so now we have Herbie, Ernie, Richard, Barry, Morris and Norris dotted in various corners gathering dust! They are all very different, all hand carved out of wood and are extremely heavy!
