Blue Steel

Al gives me his 'Blue Steel' ha ha! He looks nothing like that in every day life, look at that puckered chin. This is what passes for a model pose for a ten year old boy.

Quiet day. Al did lots of homework on his project which needs to be finished by Tuesday. Betsy did lots of reading for her Battle of the Books inter-school quiz which is on Wednesday. She had two more books to read and finished one of them this evening. One more to go.

Her finger isn't sore now but still needs to be in the splint and so I am cutting up her food, doing up her shoes, washing her hair. It's quite like old times.

Watched an SMP - Touching the Void. Betsy and I gave up on Chapter Three of the book recently but I saw the film many years ago and enjoyed watching it again. Betsy and Al both really enjoyed it. It's the first documentary we have watched as part of SMP. I think they might also enjoy Man on Wire, so perhaps we'll try that one at some point.

Later we watched another episode of The Young Ones. It was the one where they go on University Challenge. I laughed and laughed and laughed. One of my absolute favourite episodes. 'Hands up who likes me!'
