Walking the Mile
Today we were back to being city tourists. We went to the Edinburgh Castle first thing and beat some of the crowd, but not enough of it. We're completely spoiled by having the Borderlands to ourselves and not being jostled. (We'll have more of that soon enough, when we're by ourselves in our campervan on Mull.)
After the castle we lunched, walked up and down the Royal Mile, admired those narrow "closes" that always seem to go somewhere interesting, took photos, took a whiskey tour and tasted some, and had 50 minutes in the National Portrait Gallery.
Now we're back in the room, admiring our view of the castle (again) and having in-room tea.
