Mono-Monday: Roads

I don’t have a lot to say about this challenge other than it was much harder than I thought it would in many ways. Composition was quite challenging, and so I have thrown in the towel on that one. Finding a safe place to pull over on my way to and from work that wasn’t risky or didn’t provide a scene with bumper to bumper cars was the another challenge. I wish I had a beautiful country lane on my route today, but that is not the case.

This is my entry for the Mono-Monday challenge: Roads.

In an effort to reduce the speed of cars traveling through neighborhoods, our county experimented with placing small islands on some of our roads. In this shot, there are three triangular shaped islands around which one must do some zig-zag maneuvering on an otherwise straight road. What may appear to be an overzealous use of lines, is probably to provide the driver with some warning that this is coming up on a road where you would not likely expect it, but they do seem to be a bit more crooked than they should be. I shot this every which way as it was getting dark, and this was the best of the lot.

Thanks to Gingernan for hosting the challenges this month.
