This is Mr. Fun's first official day of retirement. We've always said, "Someday we're going to retire." Well, for Mr. Fun, someday happened today!
The two of us woke-up early as we usually do at camp and both of us grabbed the things we would need in the bathroom and we each headed our separate ways -- to get ready for the day and then to meet down at the shoreline to do our daily bible reading and to drink coffee (except, I've just quit coffee. So I had a cup of hot cocoa).
When it was nearly time for the breakfast bell, we had not yet seen Tristan out and about, so I walked back to our cabin to check on him. When I got there Tristan was still sleeping. When he woke he was feeling ill. He spent the remainder of the morning throwing-up and sleeping. Later I realized that Tristan's illness was sun-stroke from being in the sun a majority of yesterday.
So Mr. Fun & I stayed with him throughout the morning and skipped all the planned activities. We neither one realized how very tired we were, but as I tried to read, I just kept nodding-off. Finally I just stood-up out of my little sandchair that I take to the shoreline to sit in and stretched out on our double bunk. Very quickly I was asleep.
So Mr. Fun & I spent a goodly portion of, not only the morning but, the remainder of the day sleeping.
I think it's okay to be really sleepy on the first day of retirement. We're turning the page in our book of life and starting a new chapter and that's fairly exhausting.
