Tonight I took a trip up to Loch Thom. The light and clouds were beautiful on the still loch.

Looking forward to the match tonight between Brazil and Germany. Hope it is a good game.

Was not expecting that amazing score: Brazil 1 - Germany 7

The carnival is over and the Brazilian nation is now in mourning and when the dust has settled it may be that the nature of this defeat will have wider consequences. The Germans have certainly spoiled the party and in so doing have unwittingly plunged Brazil into crisis. I am sure this humiliation will re-ignite the protests about the costs of hosting the tournament, high taxes, poor services and political corruption.

On the sporting front I hope Holland can beat Argentina and then beat Germany in the final. That would right a lot of wrongs that have happened in the past.
