Man does not live by bread alone...
Here in Peru there are three main food groups. Rice, bread, and potatoes. The food culture here is very different. For breakfast one has a bread roll. For lunch, the main meal, we have sopa (soup) and the another dish which has some sort of meat and rice and perhaps potatoe or vegetables. Dinner is at 7 or 8 at night and usually consists of another bread roll. Our host mom has realized that we really like eggs so she often offers to make is fried eggs. Vegetables are actually very cheap, however it takes a bit of work to get them as they don't have huge super markets here. I have been enjoying avacados ($.36) and 1 L mango juice ($1.25) and am quite willing to make the trek out to the market.
