He made exceedingly good cakes!

We Sat in Kiplings Gardens which were once part of The Elms, where Rudyard Kipling lived from 1897 to 1902. Kipling rented the house for 3 guineas a week and it was here that he baked his award winning fairy cakesv and also found the time to write Stalky & Co, Kim and some of his famous Just So Stories... I know i'm a font of knowledge! Ok it was the other Mr Kipling who baked the cakes!

Today i met up with Alison and we went on a mini adventure. Looking for a route across the fields from Saltdean to Rottingdean over to Woodingdean. . We managed to find the route and clocked up 6.3 miles walking in a huge circle to end up back in Rottingdean. Although it was overcast when we started our adventure, the sun quickly burnt away the cloud and the temperature rose... When the temperature rose so did our thirst levels.. We wandered through kipling gardens and found ourselves seeking refreshment in the Plough inn.. My new favourite drink is a pint of lime and soda... We managed two pints and a spot of lunch before we were back on our journey back to Saltdean...

We parted company in Saltdean and i walked the rest of the way home and today i managed to walk................. 10.7 miles in total... I have to admit i had a granny nap before Stephen came home from work. I think i deserved it!!
