Festival Frenzy

Once a year the National Cherry Festival takes over our town for a week (not including set up & tear down). Many (most?) locals find the festival annoying at best - wrecked views, noise, crowds, trash, and bumper to bumper traffic are the worst of the lot.

The bright spot in the week for me is the Children's Parade where the highlight is all the floats decorated by the area elementary schools - it really shows community spirit & seeing the smiles & hearing the squeals of delight from the children makes it all worth it.

After the parade we walked through the main section of the festival and it was good to see so many people out and about and having fun celebrating summer!
