Breakfast with Big Col at Chicken Lady's house.
We didn't break the cooker! - It was like that ........... honest!.
Then it was over to Dunfermline for the Robert The Bruce Day celebrations.
We arrived at the same time as the drizzle.
So it was off to a craft tent and a chat with the glass maker, the jam maker (bloody marvellous jam but awfy expensive) and the wood turner.
By then it was raining.
So it was off to the beer tent to sample the blonde (no - not the barmaid ...... she was a brunette -- much more to my taste) and a chat with the whisky tablet maker.
By then is was time to go and watch the jousting.
The rain had stopped but the ground was very slippery, although it didn't stop the riders going hell for leather -- and how they can see in those helmets I will never know.
I am surprised there weren't more serious accidents because they don't muck about with those real weapons.
Mungo did have to revive Big Bob after a wee bit of discipline was administered for some minor breach of etiquette. At least that is what he claimed to be doing . I am not convinced ............ and neither was Big Bob apparently.
After having a kipper straight out of the smoker for lunch (beautiful) we had a wander round various displays etc and caught up with one of the knights letting his horse cool down.
The village idiot was entertaining with his umbrella - but I am not convinced he was acting.
Some of the fabrics were quite sumptuious but this was the only medieval camouflage I saw.
Mind you, after two of the falcons disappeared into the trees during their lack of display due to being flocked by seagulls, the falconer could have done with some camouflage as he was seen heading to the trees with a ladder and a bag full of chicken bits to try and retrieve them.
After dropping off Col it was home for a shower and a change before SWMBO and I headed back up to Chicken Lady's for a curry with her, Col and the other two of the usual suspects (just returned from 3 weeks in deepest darkest Engerlandshire in Dirty Gerty.
