Harry Potter / Train

We took the much touted "Harry Potter" train from Ft. William to Mallaig, but this picture (what is seen in one of the movies?) is about as much HP as there was to the ride. The deluxe carriages were quite a bit more for the 1 and a half hour ride. The views were lovely, but no more beautiful than they have been our entire time in Scotland. It's all quite spectacular. What was fun on the train trip was talking to a fellow traveler and hearing her story, then sharing lunch and the ferry over to Skye. We parted ways and went to our hotel, the Ardvasar, where we spent the last part of our first full day of rain in our comfortable room. Paul thought the place had a Faulty Towers feeling to it. We especially enjoyed the dog who moaned at us during dinner.
