Lesson 2

Today I had my second conversation club. I was a little worried at first if I prepared enough material and that people would turn up! I arrived and set up and people started to file in a little late but I was glad none the less.

We went through various phrases used with the workplace that they can use on a daily basis. We got through those quite quickly so I decided to through some Aussie slang with them so that they might understand the natives a little more. Some are simple eg. Sunnies = Sunglasses, Barbie = BBQ some I've never heard like Hooroo = Goodbye and Daks = Trousers.

The evening finished off with a fire alarm which caused everyone to brave the cold as they tried to figure out the way to disable it. Turns out it was just a little too much smoke from the Kitchen so no major damage had been done.
