Fallen in the cause of the free....

It was the Royal British Legion County Parade through my town today. It sounds very grand but was actually quite a low key affair. The standards of the local area branches were paraded from one end of town to the church for a memorial service led by three drummers & a bass drum.

Miniman watched from the wall of the church and marched along to the beat of the drums and waved to our standard bearer who gave him a cheeky wink & wiggled his fingers as he marched past. We didn't go in for the service as Miniman was hardly capable of being still never mind being quiet for more than a couple of minutes. It's such a shame that we have to give thanks for the lives of so many who who gave up theirs to allow us our freedom. And yet every year more are added to the ever growing list.
