Because it was the one I was trying to get...
I took over 160 photos today. I haven't done that since the early days of getting my camera 2 years ago. Admittedly I needed to delete well over half of them immediately but I still found myself staring at them as bedtime approached, wondering which one to choose.
I've decided on this one because I imagined it before it happened. I'd seen so many lovely wildflowers on the dunes and thought 'Would be nice with a bee', 'Would be nice with a butterfly', 'Would be nice with a ladybird', 'Would be nice if the sun shone just there', 'Would be nice if the wind calmed down a bit', and yet nothing was prepared to help me out or line itself up for me. Then when we got to the beach I saw the sailing boats coming up behind us, I saw a tiny fishing boat in front of us, I saw the gaps in the clouds, and I thought 'Would be nice if the sun came out and did a little highlighting thing on the water and the sailing boat lined itself up nicely with the fishing boat and Hartland Point in the background. And I kept turning around and checking as we walked down the beach until they finally did something close to what I had been hoping for. So whether it's any good or not, it happened and that's why I chose it.
No signets, dog carrying a buoy, or bonking beetles then.
Richard and I had a lovely long walk with the dog while Tess was at a birthday party today. She had a sleepover last night for a different friend's birthday and got next-to-no sleep so was absolutely shattered this evening.
Feeling rather shattered myself but that's probably because it's tomorrow already and I'm supposed to be asleep.
