Leaving Santa Fe
But we didn't miss out on the shopping.
Near the Plaza there is a colonnade where the Native American craftsmen lay out beautiful jewellery and pottery. Before we set off on the Interstate for Colorado Springs, we took a stroll after breakfast and this lovely father and daughter had a marvellous selection of turquoise and silver items.
They are from the Santo Domingo Pueblo from New Mexico. Both make jewellery and it is very much a family affair. I weakened I'm afraid (a stunning pendant) and they were pleased to let me take their photo.
We headed North fairly early as there had been flash flood warnings and paused in Trinidad on the New Mexico/Colorado border for another brilliant pizza.
They had the final on tv. It seems as though the World Cup has caused considerable interest.
The resort in Colorado Springs is beautiful but rather stuffy. Nice pool though.
