In my spare time..........

Behold the packets of fresh strawberries hulled and sliced this morning. There is no filter on this, it is the real color. Out of 10 quarts I managed to get 8 very full bags for the freezer. I have I think 20 now in the freezer. My dad loves strawberry shortcake. He can now have it twice a month. I figure at 88 years old, if he wants something as easy to prepare as strawberry shortcake, then he deserves it.
I moved in with my dad two years ago after my mom died. We have established a tradition of having dinner every night at 600 pm (1800) at the dining room table. Since Dad is in renal failure, everything is made from scratch with no preservatives or salt. We have managed to keep him at about 5 percent of his renal function for 3 years. Every day is a gift with him.
I have about 20 different table cloths as the table is set every night. I love and collect vintage table cloths. I would light candles however, let's face it ...........I don't need any more accidents waiting to happen in my life. I tend to be a little accident prone.

I learned a new term today: sleep in. I love this term. This term does not suck. See I am smiling. Well you can't see but trust me ...... I am smiling.

Tonight was our last in a marathon of about 7 gigs in a week in a half. I had ice cream. It was a coffee ice cream. It was disappointing. I may need to try more tomorrow , you know give ice cream a second chance.

So I am going to try and catch up on some journals and get some sleep. 4am is early. And 1100 (2300) is late.
