Magical Sunset and Moonrise

Sunset was at 9.21pm and as you can see it was spectacular . I stayed on the moor to watch the Perigee moon rise from the opposite direction and this moon shot was taken about 30 minutes after the sunset - it is rising over Shell Top.

A Perigee moon is where the moon is closest to the earth and appears brighter and larger than normal. It is a bit more orange than when higher in the sky because at this height in the sky it is being viewed through more of the Earth’s atmosphere. The moon was actually at its closest to Earth at 9:27 am but of course was not visible to us.
