Long Slow Distance

View from the top

One of my favourite views, shot while out on my long Sunday run. Mid-ground is Kingston, with the new Ashcombe Windmill (subject of a previous blip) on the high ground beyond, and Lewes in the far distance, some three miles away.

Reaching this point on the Downs requires scaling one of several chalk paths, which at this time of the year are either sticky or dangerously slippery. Other paths, such as the one left of picture, wind their way around the hills at a gentler gradient.
