Watching the World Go By

It's quite difficult to beat sitting on a park bench in the sunshine with a bun and your best chum.

I received a letter from my cousin this morning, sent from Claridge's in That Fancy London Town. I was asked a few weeks ago if I missed my old life, and the honest answer was no. I'm glad I had it, but now is much better. And it's getting better all the time. But seeing that headed paper this morning did make me a little bit wistful.

And then I remembered the backbiting, the politics, the unreasonable boss who insisted on me meeting him at the airport at 11pm, having a drink with him to go over the next day's agenda until 1am, getting back to my flat on the other side of Warsaw at 2am, then up again at 5.30am to get back to his hotel for a 7am breakfast meeting.

Now is INFINITELY better.
