Changes
This morning when I turned on my computer I was greeted with Google’s Doodle of Emmeline Pankhurt marking her 156th birthday. Thank you Emmeline for giving us the vote.
At lunchtime I went to Social Bite, a sandwich shop on Rose Street (where this graffiti is on one of the pillars).
Unlike other sandwich shops Social Bite do things that make a difference, by donating 100% of their profits to social causes. Also 1 in 4 of their team was formerly homeless.
Social Bite also run a scheme called ‘Suspended Coffee’ which is not unique to them but one they openly put into practice, it’s a simple idea whereby you can donate the equivalent of your coffee or lunch money to ensure a homeless person who comes in can get food or coffee for the donated amount – Genius!!
I have a great deal of admiration for Josh (who is in his 20’s) and the Social Bite team for what they are doing...
A lesson to all of us that our actions can create change for the better….as Mahatma Ghandi said “Be the change that you wish to see in the world”
