St Swithins Day
St Swithin's Day dawned with an almost cloudless sky but for much of the day it was completely clouded over before clearing again in the evening. However it didn’t rain so perhaps it augers well for the next 40 days.
The stalks of barley, flowers of rosebay willow herb and tree mallow blowing in the wind frame the view towards Fife across the Forth as the tide comes in at Port Seton. Nearby three men were fishing off the rocks with one of them landing a huge mackerel while his friend told him that he had caught 32 yesterday. Instead, as usual I got my selection of fish from the little harbour shop.
