Reflections

I always think this scene could be in one of several Continental cities, but in fact it's the Shore in Leith on a positively European evening - warm and still with people sitting outside pubs chatting - and not a midge to be seen.

We had just eaten in Tapa, tucked round a corner on the left bank of the Water of Leith, and were about to walk back to Newhaven in a very mellow frame of mind indeed.
