Walking Alone

It has been a crazy 24 hours and I am walking home … I have been in a hospital with a client who is being held on a Form 1 of the Ontario Mental Health Act. In Ontario, once a person has been brought to a psychiatric hospital to be assessed, the physician may hold them there for up to 72 hours on an application for psychiatric assessment (Form 1) This form allows the person to be held at a psychiatric facility for assessment, but does not itself permit any treatment without the persons consent.

I have been assisting with the assessment due to some of the health professional don't have the experience with Acquired Brain Injury. I have been in this field for 8 years and still find that health profession don't know how to deal with this population. It is extremely frustrating.
