Wildflowers at Stirling Bridge

You have to look hard but behind the wildflowers in this picture, you'll see Stirling Bridge.
This baby-of-a-bridge is just 500 years old.
The original wooden bridge which crossed the River Forth on the outskirts of Stirling was the site of The Battle of Stirling Bridge - a key battle of the First War of Scottish Independence.
On 11 September 1297, the forces of Andrew de Moray and William Wallace defeated the combined English forces of John de Warenne, 6th Earl of Surrey, and Hugh de Cressingham.
It was a sair fecht and one from which de Moray - a young man - never recovered. He died a few months later.
I'm going to be PR'ing for a group called the Guardians of Scotland, who are working on creating a lasting commemoration to the battle on the site.
At the moment, there is nothing there to talk this incredible story out.
