Strathspey Steam Railway

Here is the E.V.Cooper steaming into Boat of Garten station. The railway runs the eight miles fom Aviemore to Broomhill (Glenbogle), although is being extended, currently at Dulnain Bridge and only three miles to go to reach Grantown on Spey. However, this involves tunnelling under the A95 and building a terminus, so fingers crossed. The line is run by volunteers and is a very gentle, friendly way to travel. In summer, they run evening dining trips and people arrive in gear from full evening dress to shorts and tee shirts. The eight miles takes the length of a five course meal with wines, ie very slowly and pleasantly!
