Smeatons Tower on Plymouth Hoe

The third Eddystone Lighthouse and in use until 1877. Rebuilt on the Hoe as a memorial to the designer John Smeaton.

There were three tugs manoeuvring the crude oil tanker the Maersk Rapier as it made its way past and into the dockyard. The one towing it is not visible - the one on the back is there I assume, to act as 'brake'. Another shot of the tanker on flickr.
