Laughing Ladies

The two Laughing Ladies from Montana finally landed in Salida, Colorado and what better place to relax after a difficult drive over two 11,000 foot passes in scorching heat. The 13 and 14 thousand foot peaks surrounding us still have lots of snow. Would have been fun in a top-down speedy little sports car but in a large truck hauling 4 tons of trailer, bronzes and show stuff...not so much. Once we got closer to Salida, temps dropped rapidly and now it's a pleasant 68 degrees. Lovely walk around this friendly, very colorful little town this evening...even stopped at a concert in the park. I like it here...a good feeling town where people walk all over the place and say hi...just like home. Very vibrant...not like little Green River.
